Injury Biomechanics / Human Factors
& Product Liability / Warnings
& Product Liability / Warnings
Lower Back Injury Biomechanics3D Modelling: Modeling biomechanics can determine lower back (L4/L5) disc compression and reveal the proximate cause of an injury.
Human Factors: Human Factors is the study of how humans interact with their surroundings. Humans are prone to err, and products and premises must be designed to match human expectancy.
|
Product Liability / WarningsHazard Control: Hazards can be controlled with safe designs, guarding, and warning with decreasing effectiveness, respectively.
Adequate Warning: Warnings must communicate the the type of hazard, the extent of injury from exposure to the hazard, and how to avoid the hazard.
|
Patent infringement / Intellectual Property
Patent claims must be written broadly to encompass more than the preferred embodiment.
Product Innovation / R&D
NASA Controlled Resistance Exercise Device (C-RED)
The Controlled Resistance Exercise Device (C-RED) concept began as Dr. Paulus' graduate dissertation at Colorado State University. The research continued through funding from the Arkansas Space Grant Consortium and then NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I, II, and III grants.
